  • Shampoo & Conditioning

  • Clipping around the face, feet and groin area to length requested by owner

Our Grooming service is the same as our Wash & Tidy service, but suitable for very long coated breeds, and includes:

  • Ears cleaned (and plucked if required)
  • Anal glands checked (we will advise you if we think your best friend should be seen by your vet)

  • Shampoo & Conditioning
  • Blow Dry
  • Clipping around the face, feet and groin area to length requested by owner

We can clip one length all over, we can clip in a specific breed clip, or to your specific requirements.

As part of Clipping, we can do a “summer clip” for long-haired dogs to ensure that they are comfortable in the warmer weather, or we may be able to offer a “winter clip” that is “not too short” during those colder winter months.

There are many different ways and preferences to clip some breeds, so please let us know your specific requirements and we will happily match your expectations. If you want your best friend to sport a professional breed clip, then rest assured that our staff are trained to clip all sorts of breeds, for example West Highland Terriers, Airedales, Cocker Spaniels, Irish Springer Spaniels, and Poodles – to name just a few!

Puppies are able to come into the salon as soon as their vaccinations are up to date. Of course we love lots of puppy cuddles when we have a new puppy in for a visit!

If your puppy is still due for their vaccinations, they are welcome to come in, however although we sanitise our working areas and keeps dogs separate, bookings are at the owner’s risk.

Senior dogs need special care and our staff are trained to care for their individual needs. We can schedule your long-time friend in on quieter days to provide a more peaceful environment.

If your pet has been unwell or is recovering from an operation, please advise our staff so we can keep an close eye on your dog and monitor their progress and health throughout their appointment with us.

Also, if your dog is unwell and is unable to make it to the routine appointment, please let us know and we can make an alternate appointment for you, or we can give you a call in a week or so to see how they are going.

Typically dogs are more anxious and scared of a new enviornment when their owner is around, and they often settle quickier once you have gone, and they are allowed to sniff and check out their surroundings.

If a dog is anxious or scared, then our trained staff will try talking soothingly and calmly to your best friend while patting them. If they are still not comfortable, then we may stop the grooming process completely and allow them to have some time and space.

Of course if there is any concern that your best friend is not coping with the grooming process, then we will contact you.

If your dog is still due for their vaccinations, they are welcome to come in, however although we sanitise our working areas and keeps dogs separate, bookings are at the owner’s risk.

We are able to look after any small dogs during the day at our Glenunga Studio to help you in the event of an unexpected emergency.

Sometimes dogs can become distressed or destructive when left at home alone, so your beloved pooch can spend the day in the company of other dogs and our friendly staff for a small fee.

If you are moving house why not book your dog in for the day for a wash and/or clip? They will be out of the way of trucks/furniture ensuring that they will be not only clean but far less stressed. This will also help you to concentrate on the move without the constant worry about your pet – no more checking if the gate has been left open by removalists.

Your fur-friend will then come to your new home clean & fresh and at a time when you can give them some special attention to help them adjust to their new surroundings.

Please note that our grooming salons are not licensed to give sedatives and we do NOT have sedatives on the premises!. We look after your dog’s grooming requirements, and we leave any medications required to be handled by your vet.

The Process

Once your four-legged best friend has checked out the surroundings, they are settled into their own individual space. This is to ensure they are safe and able to have their own space and water bowl.

Prior to the bath, all dogs have their nails clipped (if required), ears plucked (if required), ears cleaned, and any pre-clipping required. This is performed on one of the blue work benches. There are hydraulic tables to lift dogs who cannot be safely lifted by staff, and the blue work benches have a plastic grip surface to ensure your best friend is stable during this process. We use supports to ensure that your dog is safe at all times.

As part of the grooming process all dogs receive a luxurious bath and body wash in warm water. Sensitive shampoo can be used at this time if required. Please discuss any skin conditions and bathing requirements when you drop off your beloved pooch in the morning.

Once your best friend is smelling fresh and looking sparkling, they receive a warm blow-dry. Sometimes an enclosure is used for this drying process when many curl up and take the opportunity to have a snooze; sometimes we blow-dry a dog by hand with them sitting at our side.

After the bath and blow-dry, the clipping process is completed with shaping and tidying-up, a perfumed finish-spray, cute little bow in their hair, and of course some well deserved treats!!

One of our furry friends being pampered!

At times a muzzle may be used when an owner has advised us that their best friend may bite, for example when they have their nails cut. Any muzzles are used sparingly and are removed as soon as possible. We want your best friend to be safe, but also comfortable and happy during their grooming visit to provide the best possible experience.

For the health and safety of your dog and our staff, all dogs are kept in a size appropriate enclosure, or if classified as a large dog, secured out of the way with a leash.

That way we can ensure your dog is protected from other dogs and busy feet!

While they are with us, they are provided water, and will get taken outside for a toilet break if their visit is extended.
